JUSTIN NIELSEN // Chief Executive Officer

Justin Nielsen was one of the original founders of Mazuma Capital. With over 17 years of industry experience, Justin brings exceptional leadership to the Mazuma Capital organization. Focusing on building a highly-qualified equipment finance team, combined with a highly energetic corporate atmosphere, Justin has positioned Mazuma as an independent industry leader.

While earning his B.A. in Communications with a Minor in Technical Sales, Mr. Nielsen played basketball on a scholarship from Weber State University where he was an Academic All-American and participated in the prestigious NCAA Post Season Tournament. Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and children, golfing, and the outdoors.

SCOTT MILLER // President

Scott brings vast leadership to the Mazuma Capital team. With almost a decade of industry experience, Scott specializes in creating strategic funding relationships. His unique ability to build traditional and non-traditional financial partnerships helps fuel Mazuma’s growth and development.

Prior to joining Mazuma Capital, Scott was a partner in a real estate development firm where he raised funds for master-planned communities, condominium developments, and related projects. He has a Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young University, where he played college golf and participated in two National Championships. When out of the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor recreation.

SCOTT FINLINSON // General Counsel

Scott brings more than 15 years of legal expertise to Mazuma Capital as the company’s General Counsel. He is an experienced corporate attorney whose law practice focuses on outstanding cost effective legal solutions for businesses. Prior to joining Mazuma, Scott was a shareholder at Ray Quinney and Nebeker in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was part of the firm’s corporate, tax and real property sections. He has represented clients locally and nation-wide in multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions and has represented equipment leasing companies in transactions across the country. For the past six years, he has been ranked by his peers as one of Utah’s “Legal Elites” as published in the Utah Business Magazine. Scott is an active member of the Utah State Bar where he is a frequent presenter and lecturer on business matters and served as the past president of the Bar’s Business Section. He graduated from the University of Utah College of Law where he served on the Utah Law Review. He is an avid road biker and skier and enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters.

MATT BURROWS // Executive Vice President of Sales

Matt Burrows attended school at Snow College and Southern Utah University. He played strong safety and linebacker on the football teams at both schools.

Out of college, he completed NASD series 6, 63, & 65. As a registered representative of Washington Square Securities, he worked as a financial advisor to over 5,000 employees within the largest PEO in the state of Utah. Matt parlayed his experience in sales to become one of the top producing distributors with a world wide producer of health products. After joining Mazuma Capital in early 2006 as account executive, Matt was subsequently promoted to Manager, Vice President, and now serves as Mazuma’s Senior Vice President of Sales.

DUSTIN BOND // Vice President of Sales

Dustin began his career in equipment leasing in 2004, and his experience and natural talent have empowered his success in the industry. He began working with Mazuma’s parent company in 2012 in Intermediary Relations, was subsequently promoted to Manager, and now serves as a VP of Sales with Mazuma. Dustin is known for his creative approach and workable solutions to meet critical client objectives in each transaction. He attended Western Governor’s University, and outside of the office Dustin is a golf enthusiast and lifelong martial artist. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.

RICHARD BEYNON // Controller

Prior to joining Mazuma, Beynon was Chief Financial Officer for hedge fund complex Outrigger Funds where he streamlined expenditures by optimizing monthly trade reconciliations and partnership accounting and coordinated annual financial and regulatory audits and compliance requirements. Before his tenure at Outrigger Funds, as principal of his eponymously named professional firm, Beynon successfully turned around a distressed company by restructuring its debt and properly positioned the company for a fruitful acquisition.

Beynon received a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Utah and a master’s of business administration degree at Westminster College’s Gore School of Business where he was published in the school’s business journal.

MICHAEL PETERSON // Credit Manager

Mike joined Mazuma Capital in 2009 as a Credit Analyst. Since then, Mike has been a valuable asset to the Mazuma team. He has built tremendous transaction experience as he’s been instrumental in growing Mazuma’s lease portfolio. Prior to joining Mazuma, Mike worked at Zions Bank as a Commercial Credit Analyst on the Private Banking and National Real Estate group. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International and Asian Studies with an emphasis in law and diplomacy. Mike enjoys participating in sports, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
